About Me

Me, On Right.
This is me (Jen) on the summit of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, AZ. See how happy I am? It's not only because I just conquered a hike. It's also because I'm soakin' in the rays of the AZ sun. Arizona is where I grew up, and the place I still (and will always) call "home."

In 2009, I graduated from Arizona State University with a major in print journalism and a minor in business. After some freelance reporting, and then about a year in marketing, I missed journalism so much that I moved across the country for a job as a reporter

Well ... and because my boyfriend, James, moved here for grad school.

I've been at work since October 2010 covering community news near the nation's capital. I thank God every day for the opportunity to make a living doing what I love to do.

But I do miss my family and friends back home. I'm homesick about 4000X on an average day.

Me, Sister, Brother & Momma
I started this blog in January 2012 as a way to start writing about what I find to be the most important thing in life - staying healthy.

I'm an avid runner, a casual cyclist and hiker, and, man, do I love me some sweaty P90X. Working out is the best way for me to get all of my stress out, and to feel good about myself.
Sweat = Happiness. 5K PR here, and I knew it.

I'm always interested in hearing the latest study results about the food we eat and the exercise we get. I hope that I can bring together all the latest findings in this blog. My comments are meant to be taken lightly, as I'm no expert. I just like following what is being discovered about our bodies and the way we treat them, and I hope you like following along.

Feel free to email me at any time at thewellwire@gmail.com.

  2. I love hearing all the new stuff that they come out with too, although I am really set in my feelings about eating real, whole foods to fuel your body and get the nutrients our bodies crave. Excited to follow you along though - what a great idea!
